I got my first ever "night night mommy" as I was leaving Keely's room when I put her down for a nap. I don't even think I said it first!
And this after I was "mean" to her by stopping lunch after she spit food out. She's been doing that a lot lately so I decided to do the same thing we did to break her of throwing food. Spiting food out = you must be done eating. She really didn't seem to mind, I think she was exhausted!
I never thought I'd be one of THOSE people. You know, a blogger. But while reading some other blogs recently I thought how sad I was that I haven't been recording the little things in Keely's life, and in Daniel and I's life in general. 10 years from now it won't matter what Keely's favorite food was when she was 21 months old, or what TV show was our favorite to watch, but maybe it will be nice info to have. Subject yourself to this at your own risk.

Monster under the bed? No, thats just Keely
Today Keely discovered underneath her crib. I had lifted the skirt up to look for something under it and she crawled right in. Then came out and went to get her taggie blanket (her night time lovey), and crawled under the bed to store him there. THEN she came out and went to get hop-hop, and crawled back in. She apparently thought it was a super fun place to hang out, and the best place for hop-hop to go 'night night'. Thats where we found both when we were putting her to bed.

Our lives in 2010
Photobook 2010
This summer when I was looking at REAL photo albums with Aunt Amy I got sad. I used to be very diligent about keeping my photo albums together but now that its all digital, so are my albums. I wanted something physical to show off and and flip through from time to time. I decided I was going to start making a photobook at the end of each year that chronicled that year. I thought I'd share the one I just finished for 2010.

Jump! Jump!
We've been going to Heidi's Musical Gym since around August and Keely has really learned a lot from Ms. Heidi. She can do forward and backward rolls, walk on a balance beam, and army crawl! However, until today she has never jumped. She would throw her arms in the air and yell 'Jump!' and she thought that was good enough. Today on the trampoline at class she really started to bend her knees and jump, even getting both feet off of the floor together once! Its the little things that matter most :)
Oh and she also said her first 4 word sentence, 'I don't want it', when Ms. Heidi was trying to convince her to hang from the bars. She's been quite opinionated about what she will and will not do at gym class these last few weeks, mostly only wanting to do whatever her friend Sophia (Phee-ya) is doing.

Ashes...Ashes...
Last night Keely started saying fall down, fall down, after turning in circles. Thankfully I knew that they'd been doing the whole 'ring around the rosey' song at school last week. Who knew my daughter could make a song about bubonic plaque so adorable??

Sentences!
In the last 2 weeks or so Keely has started talking in sentences! I think her first sentence was 'I like it' (or I yike it!). One night she was playing on her piano and told Daniel 'I make music'. When we were at dinner she was coloring and kept saying 'I DID it!', with this oh-so-proud grin. Adorable. She picked up her play phone and said 'I phone nana', which of course I had to call my mom (Nana) and tell immediately. And I know all parents thinks that their kid is brilliant...Daniel and I totally KNOW that Keely is. We're surprised that she is saying I, instead of me or Keely. Though I'm pretty sure she can't actually SAY Keely. Another mom of one of her classmates complimented her talking today, so maybe she IS extraordinary, even to people who aren't her parents.

Fun with Dishtowels
Keely has long been obsessed with taking all of the dishtowels out of the cabinet and playing with them. This involves using them to clean up imaginary spills, draping them over the dogs' backs, and tonight making a bed out of them. She piled them all up and then laid down and said 'nap'. Then she asked for her taggie blanket and her hop-hop and Elmo and eventually baby. Finally she told Daniel to lay down with her (Papa, nap! while pointing to where he was supposed to go). She even insisted on making him a pillow of rags.
